SEMESTER 2, YEAR 1 - SUNDAY BEST
First year is about becoming an efficient pattern maker; what you can and can't do, how the garments fit the body, how they distort them. Focussing on the upper body in semester 2, Jordyn produced a drop-shoulder dress, with hand-bleached panels. An inverted pleat on the left wearing side exposes a hidden bleached panel, and is held in place by herringbone tape. The cuffs fold down and are also held in their correct position via herringbone tape and what were once curtain hooks.
Jordyn was awarded for her outstanding academic achievement in 2016, with this garment being displayed at the graduate exhibition 'Point of Departure'.
